"The shoe that fits one person pinches another; there is no one recipe for living that suits all cases."
- Carl Jung
Perhaps life has shifted in ways that are hard to name. You're functioning, capable, getting on with things, and yet something feels off. A sense of being stuck, or lost, or quietly unlike yourself.
Life has a way of changing around us before we've had a chance to catch up. A relationship. A career. A milestone that arrived with more weight than you expected. The children grown and gone. A body that feels unfamiliar. A version of yourself you're not sure fits any more.
You don't need a diagnosis or a crisis to seek support. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, self-aware, and managing well on the surface — but carrying something that deserves proper attention.
If any of this feels familiar, you're in the right place.

I'm Jules McClean, an accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience in private practice. I hold a BA (Hons) in Counselling and an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I am an Accredited Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and a Registered Member of UKRCP.
My practice is based in Weybridge and Chertsey, Surrey, and I work with adults, couples, and young people across a wide range of concerns.
Therapy, at its best, is a collaboration. I don't arrive with a fixed framework and apply it regardless of who you are. Instead, I take the time to understand you, your history, your patterns, the particular shape of what you're carrying, and we work together to find an approach that fits.
Drawing on a wide range of therapeutic methods, I offer each client something genuinely tailored. The relationship between therapist and client matters enormously, and I take great care to build one that feels safe, honest, and rooted in compassion. That is what allows real change to happen.
Whether you're navigating depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement, relationship difficulties, or something harder to define, I offer a confidential, compassionate space to work through what matters to you.
All my sessions draw on a range of approaches and are tailored to your unique needs.
The Psychology of Style is a unique service that explores the relationship between how you present yourself to the world and how you feel on the inside.
Rooted in psychological insight and Jungian thinking, this is for women who sense that their outer image and their inner self are misaligned, and want to understand why, and what to do about it.
Feel free to get in touch with me by phone or email. I will be happy to answer any questions you might have about counselling or psychotherapy. We will then arrange an initial face-to-face session where we will go straight into the issues that you need help with. This first session is all about getting to know each other, giving you the chance to decide whether my way of working is a good fit for you. Should you choose to go ahead, we will pencil in our next session at a time convenient for both of us
